Are you trusting in Jesus ALONE for your Salvtion?
~Eternal life is a free gift~
Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~You can not earn a place into heaven, it is a gift~
Ephesians 2:8-9; 8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
~We do not deserve heaven~
Romans 3: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3: 12...there is no one who does good, not even one
James 2: 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
~You can not save yourself~
Titus 3: 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy
~God is just-He must punish sin~
2 Peter 3: 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Acts 16: 31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household

~How do you know, if you have eternal life?~
1 John 5:11-13 11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

That's about the best way to read a joyce meyer book! :D
Must have been one good book--it put her to sleep! :)
Because I do not know much about J.M., and from other peoples comments about her, I would not recommend her books. But, this book talked specifically about how sin starts with a thought, and how there is a battle going on in the mind. And it was something I was talking with Sheldon and Grace about, at that time. But, I have to admit that I did not read all of it first. I pray God will take my faultiness, and still bring my children closer to Him.
Although I'm not a big JM fan, I think it's so cool that you're talking with your kids about things like that!! Rachel is starting to be able to discuss things of a little substance, but I look forward to having more in-depth conversations with my kids someday. And it's such an encouragement to me to hear about Christian parents discipling their kids.
